Andrea Townsend is a contemporary painter residing in Indianapolis, IN. She is a graduate of Herron School of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. Her most recent work include mixed media portraits and abstracts that depict urban landscapes along with interactive pieces that alter image perception with movement and reflection. She focuses on mixed materials and the use of light in her paintings. She uses her appreciation of architecture to create her own urban atmospheres. Inspirations for her work include material, cities, architecture, and the process of building both literally and metaphorically. She works out of her studio in downtown Indianapolis, IN where she resides.
