Andrea Townsend is a contemporary painter that also possesses range in ability to paint various subject matter in freelance projects. She is a graduate of Herron School of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. She is experienced in watercolor, acrylic, oil paintings, and murals in both outside and indoor spaces and has been working professionally for the past 13 years out of Indianapolis, IN where she resides. She has history of working with clients both nationally and interntionally. Her most recent work, outside commissions, include mixed media portraits and abstracts that depict urban landscapes along with interactive pieces that alter image perception with movement and reflection. She focuses on mixed materials and the use of light in her paintings. She uses her appreciation of architecture to create her own urban atmospheres. Inspirations for her work include material, cities, architecture, and the process of building both literally and metaphorically. She works out of her studio in downtown Indianapolis, IN.
